We had such a wonderful time this past weekend. I am not great at putting words together but this weekend meant so much to Adam, I and the kids.
First the communication about what was going on, how they were going to do things and information about the weekend in general was spot-on. Dexter was in constant contact, I talked on the phone and got an email from Audrey. When we arrived Audrey was there to greet us, went over everything again and had us all taken care of for the weekend.
Second the accommodations. The hotel was beautiful, pools, hot tub, workout room, and of course the beach. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen and 2 full bathrooms. How wonderful was that for the 5 of us! Our balcony overlooked the water and we slept both nights with the sliding door open to hear the crashing waves as we slept.
Third the activities. There was definitely something for everyone and everything was planned perfectly. We crammed so much into Saturday and enjoyed every second of it. We hit the beach before going to The Track where the kids got to run from ride to ride as many times as they wanted. Then we grabbed a quick bite and off to our sunset dolphin cruise that didn’t disappoint. The kids fed the seagulls Cheetos while the boat cruised out in the gulf. We saw dolphins jumping through the waves and the boat even stopped at their crab tap and brought a blue crab on deck to show everyone.
Fourth and lastly the smiles! All weekend, no matter what board member we saw the one thing that never changed was their smiles. Whether they were bringing us drinks at breakfast or feeding dollars into the change machine at the arcade for the kids they were all about the giving and seemed genuinely happy to do it.
I can’t thank you enough for giving us this wonderful memory. My hope is that this stress-free, fun-filled weekend can replace some of the bad memories my family has had to endure. My family has seen me go through so much, surgeries, hospitalizations, treatments, medicines and that’s not ever going to end for me. Thank you for putting smiles on our faces, love in our hearts, and new wonderful memories to see us through!
Lots of Love,
Heidi Luke (Bristol) & Adam, Shane, Austin and Jenna
